Sally Fortner, MD, is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of New Mexico. She is the Director of Professionalism and a simulation instructor in her department. She serves as the Director of Professional Development for the School of Medicine and in this role; she leads a team of coaches in helping medical students improve their clinical communication and clinical reasoning skills as measured by Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs). She is also the Assistant Director of the School of Medicine’s Baccalaureate-MD program and co-chairs the admissions committee for the program.
